Susan and the Silent Assassin

Susan moves to the quaint little town of Fernhill, with its over exuberance of events, festivals and general collective happenings and a women's club that hates to be beaten at anything. Susan, with her friendly nature and expert skills quickly becomes the thorn in their side. And then the bodies begin to pile up, each a valued member of the women's club and each found dead in a unique way, a way that has local town watch seriously confused as to who the murderer is.

New in town and new to her job, Kazlar was hoping/nay expecting an easy life of travelling from village to village, putting the counties simple townsfolk to ease as she sorted out their problems, what she didn't expect on her very first day on the job was a robbery that evolved into a spate of thefts that rocked the town of Farrow to its very core, coupled with a tiny police force and two enemies falling head over heels in love with her, she really has her work cut out.

Questioned and queried by a rather inquisitive and dead goblin; Spencer, a wizard of no minor power, regales to her the story of how the swamps they currently find themselves confined in, came about.  He details key events through his young life and how the old city so fruitful and pragmatic, changed with the appearance of a new light in the sky and how they discovered magic, which eventually led to its own downfall and the terrible secret that he has bore for almost five hundred years.
